Athens buses, trolleys as well as the metro and tram services have come to a complete halt on Tuesday due to the 24-hour strike called by the Civil Servants’ Confederation (ADEDY) against the government’s social security bill causing massive traffic jams across the Greek capital.

Shortly before the gathering of the civil servants union ADEDY at Klafthmonos Square, about 20 persons wearing motorcycle helmets attacked the demonstrators with eggs and stones.

Greece has paralyzed due to the 24-hour strike announced by GSEE (General Confederation of Labor) and ADEDY (Civil servants union) with the central slogan "You've finished it".
