Greek state budget recorded a primary surplus of 3.544 billion euros in the January-August period, from a primary surplus of 2.117 billion in the same period last year and a budget target for a surplus of 3.573 billion, the Finance ministry said on Monday.

Greece plans to lower its 2015 primary surplus target of 3% only marginally, sticking "close to" the number in its budget, according to a finance ministry official.

The Greek Finance Ministry confirmed its primary budget surplus between January to July, at 2.279 billion euros.
