Farmers decided to escalate their protests following a nationwide meeting of blockade groups held in Nikaia, Larissa on Tuesday.
They will continue their struggle with roadblocks on national highways, as well as protests in cities. Additionally, they decided to hold a central demonstration in Athens with their tractors.

Addressing Parliament on Friday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis appealed to the opposition parties to work toward "some common positions and agreements based on the real facts," with the government, regarding what needs to be done to restore flood-stricken Thessaly. Mitsotakis was speaking during Prime Minister's Question Time, replying to a question tabled by 'Nea Aristera' parliamentary group leader Alexis Charitsis on the restitution of the victims of flooding in Thessaly as a result of Storm Daniel.

Herds of wild boars, which destroy crops before harvest time, have appeared in various parts of the country, leaving farmers in despair. Every night they literally thresh the farmers' crops, destroying all plants in their path.
