A wave of cancellations for the days of the Epiphany is recorded by the hotels of mountainous and semi-mountainous destinations, with hoteliers questioning the positive “image” described in yesterday’s announcement by the Tourism Minister, Mr. Vassilis Kikilias.

Greek hoteliers are estimated to incur losses of €500m due to the collapse of global tour operators Thomas Cook, according to the president of the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (HFF).

Greek hoteliers reiterated their proposal for the establishment of an annual winter school holiday, during a workshop this week in Athens on the “Prospects of Development and Sustainability of Greece’s Ski Centers”.
