After the necessary clarifications given by the Holy Synod and the clear message to the faithful that the churches will be closed on Holy Week, the citizens will not be able to go to temples either for the Liturgies or to worship the Epitaph.

The Holy Synod, the Church of Greece's administrative body, called for continued dialogue with the state but took a strong stand against any changes in the payroll of priests and lay staff proposed by the state, it said on Wednesday.

The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece Hierarchy will be convening on Friday to discuss the intention of the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Ieronymos and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to make changes in the relations between the Greek State and the Church.
