Seaplanes for more than 30 destinations
Seaplanes are throttling to take off in 2022 starting from the Ionian. Three new waterways have been put on the map in the last week. Crete officially acquires its first waterway, with the granting of an establishment permit to the Rethymnon Municipal Port Fund. The issuance of the permit for the Volos waterway had preceded, while the controls for the establishment of a waterway in Ios, the first in the Cyclades, were successfully completed. This lays the foundations for the creation of an extensive network of about 150 waterways in the country over a 5-year horizon, which will be the largest network in Europe, contributing to the Greek economy with more than 1 billion euros.
Seaplanes finally taking off in Greece
A new market is opening in Greece, that of seaplanes. A German fund announced that it is investing, through the company AXIONAIR, in the creation of the seaplane airline Grecian Air Seaplanes, with the participation Ms. Maria Toctor and Mr. Anastasios Govas, President of "Hellenic Seaports".
