The historic Xenia hotel of Kythnos as well as the two thermal springs has passed into the hands of the Israeli businessman Avraham Ravid,  based on the results of the tender through the electronic e-Auction platform of the Public Tender organized last Friday, by the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund S.A. (HRADF) in collaboration with the Hellenic Public Properties Company (HPPC).

The Greek Tourism Ministry recently announced the launch of a new registry designed to provide information on all of the certified thermal natural springs in Greece.

Greece’s thermal spring facilities can triple revenues to some 390 million euros per year if they are upgraded, according to a nationwide study presented last week in Thessaloniki, at a board meeting of the Hellenic Association of Municipalities with Thermal Springs.
