The agreement among political parties on Thursday on the new board of the country’s independent media body ensures that no TV channel will close and no jobs will be lost, New Democracy source said in a statement after the end of a meeting in parliament.

The parliament’s Conference of Presidents will convene on Monday (Oct. 31) at 17:00 in a newed effort to set up the new board of the country’s TV regulator, the National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV), the parliament announced on Thursday.

New Democracy is ready to agree with the government on the establishment of the new Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV) board, the country’s independent media regulator, if the government repeals the TV licensing law submitted by State Minister Nikos Pappas, party spokesman Giorgos Koumoutsakos reportedly said in an interview with “Eleftheros Typos” on Sunday.
