Videoconferencing with the Troika

Videoconferencing between the economic team of the government and representatives of the European Union Troika was held on Thursday morning, while a similar teleconference is scheduled to take place with representatives of the International Monetary Fund.
Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis informed European partners on the provisions of the bill that was passed yesterday in the House and the state of implementation of the prerequisites for the next tranche of EUR 1 billion for the country.
Also discussed were the changes the government intends to make in the way of calculating the Single Property Tax (ENFIA) to correct the mistakes that have arisen mainly to owners of land in as well as changes relating to payment of tax installments.
As already announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Evangelos Venizelos, the first ENFIA installment payment will be postponed until September instead of August as originally planned in order to allow for the time required to correct errors in the calculation of ENFIA. Also discussed was the issue of increasing the number of monthly installments from five currently.
