Art-Athina Fair Opens Today, Paleo Faliro
The International Contemporary Art Fair of Athens, titled "Art-Athina" begins today at Paleo Faliro's Tae Kwon Do Stadium.
The festival includes forty-three pieces from international and Greek galleries. This year is the first to feature Dimitris Daskalopoulos' private modern art collection. Neon Foundation's artwork will also be displayed for the first time at the event, which is funded by Daskalopoulos.
The Fair is being held until May 18th and includes open forums, educational seminars and free tours. The theme of this year's event is contemporary art trends.
The International Contemporary Art Fair of Athens was established in 1993 by the Hellenic Art Galleries Association, and is one of the longest running modern art fairs in Europe. It is the biggest yearly visual arts occurrence in Greece.
