Police moved on the case after a denunciation by a citizen that the 61 year old DOY head demanded 2,300 euros in order to rush a process for a return of tax worth 23,504 euros, for a company.
She was arrested in her office, after the citizen handed her an envelope with 2,300 euros in marked bills, yesterday afternoon.
After inquiries it was found that among her duties was overseeing company tax returns.
Today she will face the prosecutor, while her misdeeds are considered felonies because she is employed at the ministry of finance.
