Earthquake shakes vast regions in Greece (Video)

The Institute of Geodynamics National Observatory at Athens, Greece, reported that a strong earthquake, measuring 6.2 on the Richter Scale, occurred over a vast area of Greece on Saturday afternoon at 4:11 p.m. An aftershock was followed at 4:34 p.m., measuring 3.4 on the Richter Scale.

According to the institute's data, the epicenter of the earthquake was 62 kilometers west of Hania, Crete, placing the heart of the earthquake at around 60 kilometers. Although the epicenter was in Crete, the earthquake was felt in the Attic Region, the Cyclades Islands, as well as in the Peloponnese.

The residents of Crete are seriously concerned about this earthquake, as they reported that it shook the whole island for a long duration of time, lasting several minutes.
