The re-evaluation of tenured positions at the municipality of Thessaloniki began today in the presence of police.
The re-evaluation is being conducted in the personnel bureau on the third floor of the municipality, precipitating a walk out by municipality staff, who staged a protest outside the building.
Nine members of the board of the municipal employee union attended a session of the first instance prosecution after a call by prosecutor Syrmo Kakali for “peaceful resolution of differences.”
“We explained to the prosecutor, who offered advice and said the issue was terminated since no incidents took place. She also informed us that if similar events take place the mayor is responsible for calling the police, said union president kostas Xanthopoulos to the press.
Last week, municipality personnel had stopped Civil Service inspectors from conducting the re-evaluation.
