OPAP buys Payzone Hellas

Betting firm OPAP announced that on 19 November, its 100% owned subsidiary OPAP Investment Ltd bought 90% of Payzone Hellas. The transaction was completed by supplying the relevant approvals from the relevant competition authorities.
It must be noted that on 28 August, OPAP Investment signed a preliminary agreement to acquire 90% of firm Payzone Hellas from Payzone Group Ltd and Coltonia Holdings Ltd for a total of 7.75 million euros.
Payzone Hellas SA manages the largest network of payment terminals in Greece for electronic services, recharging prepaid mobile phones, prepaid cards for e-commerce transactions and bill payment services. For the year 10 October 2012 to 30 September 2013 the company posted a turnover of 271.27 million euros and 439,500 euros profit.
Among the major companies with which Payzone Hellas works in Greece are Carrefour, Shell, Anek Lines, Minoan Lines, Autogrill, Masoutis, Market In, Bazaar, Dia Hellas, Hellenic Seaways and Revoil. It also works with the largest press distribution agency in Greece, Argos SA and KKT, the largest distributor of mobile card renewal in Greece.
