Messinia man arrested for illicit antiquities

A 50 year old man was arrested for illegal possession of ancient objects, in Asprochoma Messinia, against whom a case file was formed for violation of the Law on Protection of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage.
In particular, at noon Monday, during an organized police operation, Kalamata police made at home search, where they found and seized:
1) fragment of a clay pot plug of the Hellenistic period
2) a stone architectural fragment of the early Christian period
3) a stone architectural pessary fragment of the classical-Hellenistic period.
All ancient objects, as demonstrated by archaeologists,fall within the protective provisions of the law "On Protection of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage" and were sent to the relevant departments. The 50 year old will be taken to the misdemeanor prosecutor Kalamata.
