2004 Olympics archive at Olympia
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The historical archives of the Organizing Committee of the "Athens 2004" Olympic Games are now being showcased in Ancient Olympia.
It is customary for these types of archives to be kept in Lausanne, but the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided that the non-profit organization "Historical Archives Athens 2004" be charged with the custody and care of the archives in Greece, while the funding would be provided by the IOC. The archives were presented by the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the International Olympic Academy.
The exhibition also provides room and facilities for study and research. The archives include documents, videos, movies, photos and any material related directly or indirectly to the organization of the 2004 Olympic Games. The project started in May 2013 and was completed in June 2014.
