Athens to Patras in under two hours

The upgrade of the line from Psathopirgos to the metropolitan area of Rio, a total length of 10.5 km, is expected to be completed in 36 months.
This means that once the new railway line is complete, the journey from Athens to Patras train means will take about one hour and fifty minutes.
As Imerisia notes the project budget is around 174 million euros and the construction period is 36 months.
The study of line speeds shows they will reach 200 km/h up to Lykoporia, thence to Aigio at 150 km./h and then to the entrance of Patras it will range between 90-120 km/h.
