Prime Minister and New Democracy leader Antonis Samaras on Tuesday visited the western Greek city of Arta as part of his tour in Epirus. Samaras met city mayor Christos Tsirogiannis and discussed local issues, the development of the area and projects underway.
“Epirus is the starting point for a huge step towards development, a large part of the so-called Juncker package will be allocated to Epirus; this is our perspective,” he said.
He assured that Greek Agricultural Insurance Organisation (ELGA) compensations would be granted.
He also said that emphasis should been given to the promotion of the tourist monuments of the region in conjunction with tourism development infrastructure projects. He noted that there are positive expectations and prospects for tourism and the tourism sector.
