Arrested Algerian agrees to extradition
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The Algerian arrested Saturday and allegedly linked to the jihadists who were preparing to hit the Belgian town of Vervier seems to have agreed to being extradited to Belgium.
The 33 year old Algerian was led today to the Prosecutor's Office at the Athens Court of Appeals, as a European arrest warrant by the Belgian authorities was issued yesterday afternoon.
The Algerian, who was arrested Saturday in Pangrati, is seen as involved by prosecutors in Belgium, with a core jihadist group dismantled last Thursday after information of the country's counter-terrorism that they were preparing to hit town Vervier.
According to reports, he has not objected to the procedure and agreed to appear before Belgian Justice.
