Zoi Konstantopoulou new President of the Greek Parliament

SYRIZA MP Zoi Konstantopoulou on Friday was elected President of the Parliament, after receiving the record number of 235 votes.
A total of 61 deputies cast a blank vote, while 2 votes were considered invalid. Two deputies - ND deputy Nikos Dendias and Golden Dawn secretary general Nikos Mihaloliakos - did not attend the voting process.
SYRIZA’s candidate President of the Parliament was also supported by junior coalition government party Independent Greeks (ANEL), New Democracy, To Potami and PASOK.
Konstantopoulou, born in 1976, is the youngest Parliament President in the history of the House.
