- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Sashka Rousheva and her husband Atanas Roushef are the biological parents of Maria, the child found at another Roma family in Farsala, central Greece, according to DNA sampling, as announced by Bulgarian authorities.
The secretary general of the Bulgarian interior minister stated that the DNA samples prove to a degree of 99.9% that little Maria is the natural child of the Roushef couple.
The local prosecuting authorities for the Bulgarian city of Kazanlak has ordered an inquest into whether the child's mother has participated in the sale of children.
As announced by Bulgarian authorities, Ms Sashka Rousheva is being charged for giving her consent for the sale of a child she bore abroad in 2009, according to article 182B of the country's penal code.
