Greece to end Greek football federation’s autonomy

Greek Deputy Minister of Sport Stavros Kontonis announced on Thursday that the Hellenic Football Federation will be placed under direct control of the Ministry of Sport and won’t be self-governed as required by international football bodies’ statutes.
Following the announcement, Greek clubs, and the national team, are in danger of expulsion from UEFA and FIFA international tournaments.
