Greek Grocery Stores Predict Supply Deficiency

  • Written by

Grocery stores and the food industry as a whole in Greece, are worried about next week's product supply.

Industry insiders are primarily concerned about dairy, fresh meat, and fish items. Outlets that need and use meats as raw materials, including sausages and sliced deli meats, have already been hit with a goods deficiency, that have disrupted standard operations.

Meat shortages in the nation are predicted to occur in the upcoming days; animal food outlets cautioned that they only have enough stock until the end of this weekend.

Additionally, packaged non-perishable food items also may run out far earlier than forecasted. In the days following the announced referendum, grocery store goods purchases increased 35%, according to Kathimerini.
