New 5-star hotel investments on Crete

Marriott returns to Greece and in particular to Elounda, while Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group will operate “Minos Imperial Luxury Beach Resort”.
In the mean time, hoteliers on Crete plan to construct new 5-star hotels, especially in Chania Prefecture. It has to be mentioned that “Pilot Beach Resort” (Papadakis family) was awarded by TUI, while the owner plans a new 5-star hotel in the area.
On the other side of Chania Prefecture, Mathioulakis Group plans a new 5-star hotel at Skoutelonas, Kolimbari, with a total cost of 40 mil. euros.
Recent political developents in Greece delayed the investment of Minoan Group in Lassithi (267,7 mil. euros, 1,936 beds).
As for Marriott Group… the company returns to Crete via “Domes of Elounda” of Ledra Hotels and Villas, under Autograph Collection Hotels. ACH has owns more than 80 hotels in the USA, Europe, Asia, etc.
Apart from Marriott, Radisson Blu (member of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group) will operate “Minos Imperial Luxury Beach Resort” (Geniatakis family) in Lassithi, under a new name, “Radisson Blu Beach Resort”. The hotel was awarded (World Travel Awards) once more this year as Best All-Inclusive Hotel in Greeceand Best Family Hotel of the Mediterranean.
