General Kostarakos invested Chairman of EU Military Committee

General Michail Kostarakos has undertaken his new duties as Chairman of the Military Committee of the European Union yesterday taking over from his predecessor Frenchman Lieutenant General Patrick de Rousiers.
The ceremony took place during the second day of the session of the EU Military Committee at the Chiefs of Defence level of the Armed Forces of the Member States, and before all the Heads of the EU Member States, the French General handed to General Kostarakis the standardbaton of his office.
Yesterday was the end of the last Military Committee under the chairmanship of the French General and was attended by all the Chiefs of Defence, the outgoingchairman handed over to General Kostarakis the chairman's baton. The official inauguration of the Greek President of the EU Military Committee will take place on November 6, as is the decision of the Council, in the presence of EU officials.
