Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas, in an interview with the Athens-based Mega television station on Tuesday, stressed the need to simplify the system of licensing foreign investments.
"Our task is to attract foreign investments that will bring capital to our country," he said, adding: "However, attracting investments is the easiest part. What is difficult is to simplify the system of licensing foreign investments."
He noted that "this procedure lasts 2-3 years," which is unacceptable, and expressed the government's intention to reduce that period to 3-6 months.
