- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Authorities in western Greece are bracing for a cyclone expected to hit Greece within the next hours, coming from Sardinia.
According to the national weather service EMY, the extreme weather phenomena will be largely weakened by the time they reach the Greek shores, but there is vigilance to avoid unforeseen problems.
The cyclone will hit western Greece and the Ionian islands, while strong rainfall may hit other regions.
In Sardinia, the cyclone caused 450mm of rain, more than half a year's worth in a few hours.
