Dijsselbloem: “We want to look at ways to relieve Greek debt”
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Ever since the summer, the Eurogroup has been far more productive – it is now time to talk about debt relief in Greece. The Greek debt is so large and the economy is so unstable, it creates a big issue. We don’t want to get rid of debt – no financial hair-cuts, but we want to look at ways to relieve debt,” Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the head of Eurogroup stated yesterday from Oxford.
Indirect taxes and the contingency mechanism will top the agenda of talks at today’s Euroworking Group meeting, ahead of the Eurogroup meeting on the 24th of May.
“On the 24th of May we will have an agreement, maybe even better than expected” stated Giannis Dragasakis, Vice President of the Government during an interview last night at Alpha TV channel.
