Alternate Defence Min Vitsas accuses ND of perpetuating TV lawlessness

"It is not a problem of persons, it is a problem of policy," Alternate Defence Minister Dimitris Vitsas said on Monday referring to the formation of the Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV).
In statements to public broadacaster ERT, he accused main opposition New Democracy (ND) of seeking the perpetuation of lawlessness in the TV landscape. "The government proposed a person from the right wing aiming at consensus, as provided by the Constitution. I call on the other parties to make their proposals. We are open to them," he underlined.
Asked on the violation in the Aegean, he said that Greece's sovereign rights are taken for granted. "International treaties cannot be disputed. We do not claim anything. We do not accept any questioning of our sovereign rights," he stressed.
