The Ionian Road was joined to the Rio-Antirrio bridge
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A small, yet very important part of the Ionian Road was delivered a few days ago for use.
It is a 6.5 km section that joined the Ionian Road with the Rio-Antirion bridge "Charilaos Trikoupis".
The 6.5 new tract includes, among others, the Antirrio interchange and the Makinesia tunnel, a double-section tunnel, 500 meters in length, with two lanes per direction. With their release for circulation and the union with the bridge, the southern part of the motorway was completely finished.
