Kammenos strike two: Announces F-16 upgrade freeze on Twitter
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Defense Minister Panos Kammenos announced his intention to freeze the F-16 upgrade program until the House Commitee meets through a post on twitter in response to a statement by New Democracy MP Dora Bakoyannis on the government's forthcoming agreement with the US to upgrade the F-16.
In particular, Ms. Bakoyannis, commenting on the matter to Vima newspaper, said that "as concerns the F-16 [upgrade deal] "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark"."
On his post on Twitter, Mr. Kammenos noted that he was stopping any process to upgrade the F16 while calling on the ND MP to testify to the committee in the presence of the US Ambassador.
"Since Dora sees something rotten in the F16 bilateral transnational agreement, I'm stopping every process until she testifies to the committee in the presence of the US Ambassador," Secretary of Defense Panos Kammenos wrote on Twitter.
