A seal found in Pylos has left scientists speechless. On an agate gem, that was found in the "Tomb of the Warrior" in Pylos and dates back to 1500 BC, there is a carving which depicts three warriors in battle.

Two years ago, US archaeologists Jack Davis and Sharon Stoker of Cincinnati University discovered in the Tomb of Warrior in Pylos a tiny object about 3.5 centimeters in size.
But when the antiquities restorer removed all the impurities from the surface of the "bead", what was revealed left everyone amazed: An agate seal with an engraved drawing of amazing art and detail depicting an impressive battle scene featuring a warrior-hero, naked and with long hair.
According to an American report invoking a statement by Malcolm H. Wiener, an expert in Aegean prehistory, it is "one of the greatest masterpieces of art in the Aegean that can be compared to some designs by Michaelangelo at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York."
“The detail is astonishing, especially given the size. Aesthetically, it’s a masterpiece of miniature art,” said John Bennet, director of the British School at Athens, an archaeological institute. told the New York Times.
It is still unclear, however, if it depict a battle scene from Homer's "Iliad" or "Odyssey", or some other circumstance.
