- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Eighteen seismic vibrations, with the kargest registering 2.8 on the Richter scale, have been noted since morning focusing on the coastline between Rafina and Nea Makris.
Almost all of them became particularly noticeable as they were marked at a depth of 5 to 10 kilometers from the surface.
"This is a swarm of earthquakes. We are monitoring the phenomenon. The site has not historically caused a major earthquake," said seismologist and member of the National Seismic Assessment Commission, Gerasimos Houliaras.
The chairman of the Commission, Professor Efthimios Lekkas, appearing on public broadcaster ERT also appeared reassuring, at the same time.
