Record number of Turkish violations in the air over the Aegean

With a record-breaking barrage of 52 violations of Greek airspace , the Turkish Air Force continued its provocations on Tuesday in the Aegean, after an unprecedented incident on Monday evening that saw a Hellenic Coast Guard -vessel rammed by a Turkish coastguard cutter in the Imia area.
These challenges in the air, certainly come as a follow-up to what provocative President Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday morning, addressing his party's parliamentary group on Greece and Cyprus, raising the tension in the Aegean.
It must be noted that the Turks are formally taking part in an exercise in the southeast of Rhodes, which will continue until 05:00 local time on February 15, according to the illegitimate NAVTEX they issued, and under the guise of the recent exercise they are carrying out their host of proclivities.
More specifically, and according to the official data released on Tuesday by the National Defense General Staff, a formation with two F-16 armed fighters and another 16 individual aircraft, including 6 CN-235 naval co-operation and 10 ships' helicopters (18 aircraft and helicopters in total), committed 18 infringements of the Air Traffic Regulations within the FIR of Athens and 52 violations of the sovereign Hellenic airspace, of which 33 by three CN-235 and 18 by the formation of the two fighters.
The aforementioned activity took place in the northeastern, central and southeastern Aegean. "The above aircraft were identified and intercepted according to international rules, and according to the established practice", the relevant announcement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
