The last video of the Dead Mirage pilot
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Thirty year old Giorgos Baltadoros is the pilot of the Mirage 2000-5 that was killed when it crashed into the sea nine nautical miles north-east of Skyros.
The dead pilot had spoken on public broadcaster ERT's military show "Areti kai Tolmi" in a tribute to the "Guardians of the Aegean".
The 34-year-old pilot, had appeared in the relevant report and reported on what the pilots do in the event of an alert, the dangers of their mission and the instructions they receive. "When we take off, we fly into a visual formation, that is, we see each other and from then on we expect the instructions," he said. The tragic irony is that the unfortunate pilot, returning from a mission over the Aegean, was the head of the formation and was flying visual with the second pilot.
In fact, in the video, George Baltadoros states: "We are always ready. Certainly there is a risk, no matter how often nothing happens. But we do not know today or tomorrow what the opposite is about to take place. "
