Bussinnessman shot during burglary expires after 18 days

Greek businessman Alexandros Stamatiadis has died after being hospitalised in critical condition for 18 days.
The businessman, 52, was shot by two burglars on Good Friday when he attempted to protect his wife and son in the middle of the night at his house in Kifisia. He had been on a life support system at the Gennimatas Hospital for over two weeks.
The burglary attempt and shooting had grasped national attention becoming abone of contention in the debate between qovernment and opposition about rising criminality and violent crime, which the former claims to be on the wane.
