Tourism minister jeered at, in Chania, calls off official visits

As the wave of disapproval for the ambiguous attitude of Panos Kammenos and the Independent Greeks party in the governing coalition (I support Tsipras, I am voting against his agreement with FYROM), the public appearances of top party cadres become more difficult.
The experience of Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura on Monday outside the party's new offices in the center of Chania is such an indication. Kountoura was confronted by a number of protesters who shouted their strong disapproval for presence, while also shouting slogans about Macedonia.
In statements on Radio Crete, Ms. Kountoura tried to downplay the incident by talking about tiny minorities, while attributing the incident to the New Democracy party, arguing in general that there is a plan to attack the Independent Greeks on the pretext of their attitude towards the major government partner.
"We will vote against it [i.e. the name agreement]. How many times do we have to sayit?" said the minister, frustrated by the protests.
"It is very important not to distort truth and reality, to tell the Greek people exactly what is happening ... and I can tell you that the Independent Greeks, are stable in our positions and principles and we have repeated it many times. When the bill comes to parliament, if it comes to the House, we will vote against it. And I repeat once again that we will see who will vote in favor," Elena Koudoura said.
As a result of the incidents the minister cancelled all further meetings for the day, in fear of more confrontations with citizens.
