A specific proposal for the vote of the Greeks abroad on the day of the national elections, in the embassies and consulates, is filed by the New Democracy.
The party's deputy spokeswoman, Sofia Zacharakis, states in a statement that "from 2015, New Democracy has twice submitted a bill in order for Greeks abroad to have the opportunity to vote at their place of residence."
"New Democracy's proposal is concrete and directly applicable to the next national elections. SYRIZA and ANEL have no excuse to reject it, "she adds.
Her entire statement
"From 2015, New Democracy has twice submitted a bill in order for Greeks abroad to finally have the opportunity to vote in their place of residence.
The Government is trying in every way to avoid this debate, not minding that, especially when the Greeks forced to leave in the years of the crisis, want - and rightly so - to have a say about the future of our country.
All the more when most do not hide their desire to return.
New Democracy is once again putting forward its proposal with an amendment to the new electoral law promoted this week by the Government.
The proposal provides for Greeks abroad who are already registered on the electoral roll to vote on the day of elections at the Greek consulates and embassies.
New Democracy's proposal is concrete and directly applicable to the next national elections. SYRIZA and ANEL have no excuse to reject it ".
