With a ten year record for oil production from the Prinos reserves, which is expected to exceed 4,000 barrels per day and about 1.5 million barrels a year, 2018 comes to a close, according to announcements made by the CEO of Energean Group Mathios Rigas, the Executive Director for activities in Greece, Dimitris Gontikas and the Technical Advisor of the company, Dr. Dinos Nicholas.
At the same time, the company is active in surveys in the areas of Ioannina and Aitoloakarnania, and expects licenses to proceed with the production of oil from Katakolo. The company has also made intense advances in the exploitation of the Karish and Tannin deposits in the EEZ of Israel.
According to the highlights of a company event:
-In 2019, Energean begins with the expected production of the first drilling in the Epsilon deposit, which will be the first deposit to produce oi in Greece after Prinos and North Prinos.
-A three-dimensional seismic survey will follow in part of the plots in Israel (Karish and Tannin) as well as in the two marine plots of the company in Montenegro. It is noted that Energean has hired five more marine areas in Israel where potential resources are estimated at 212 billion cubic meters of gas.
- For March, drilling is planned on Karish North in Israel, where the goal is to find 34 billion cubic meters of gas with a chance of success close to 70%.
In the Greek area, Energean expects to issue the necessary permits for drilling in Katakolo. In Ioannina 20% of seismic surveys have been completed and preparations have been made for research in Aitoloakarnania.
