Government in fear of public outrage during 25 March celebrations
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The government and its public order officers are in a state of nervous breakdown, as there are fears that there will be mass protests against the government's representatives on the March 25th parade.
Already the latest incidents in Northern Greece, festering from the Prespa Agreement, with victims of protests being top cadres of the Tsipras government - such as Nikos Pappas - have alarmed the staff of the Minister of Citizen Protection Olga Gerovassili, who today, convened a special meeting on the issue.
Under the current circumstances, the presence of government representatives in sensitive areas in northern Greece is considered a dangerous mission, as there is an appreciation that individual citizens and organizations will try to give their own mark to parades, with catcalls and boos against SYRIZA cadres.
Indeed, according to estimates of EL.AS executives. who are monitoring the movement and the messages that the protagonists of similar incidents have exchanged in the past through social media, there is a fear that protests and reactions will be spread across Greece, even on the islands or on Crete, on the occasion of the national holiday.
The information wants the Greek Police to be in a state of alert while being informed about the program of the staff of SYRIZA to find out where the most dangerous points are.
