The Hellenic Space Agency (HSO) signed collaboration memoranda with France-based Thales Alenia Space & Greece-based Thales Hellas, and with US-based Worldview Enterprise Inc., respectively, at the Digital Policy, Telecoms & Information Ministry on Monday in the presence of Minister Nikos Pappas.
HSO's agreement with Thales was signed by Christodoulos Protopapas, Thales Alenia VP for Domain Observation and Science Marc-Henri Serre, and Thales Hellas director Antonis Dimitropoulos. France's ambassador to Greece Christophe Chantepy also attended the event. The HSO's agreement with Thales, one of the leading space and defense companies globally, will boost the respective Greek industry and scientific sector within European and global programs.
An agreement between HSO and Worldview was signed by Protopapas and Senior VP for Business Development Thomas M. Pirrone. US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt was represented by Keith Silver, Senior Commercial Counselor at the American embassy.
Worldview is a leader in stratosphere technologies, Pirrone said, and expressed his gladness "Greece is entering these growth and stratosphere sectors dynamically."
Protopapas said the Worldview agreement "completes the scheduled cycle of HSO's agreements, and the Organization's presence at all space levels."
