DLF: Mitsotakis promised growth ... how will he succeed?

Featured DLF: Mitsotakis promised growth ... how will he succeed?

"The new conservative government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis can, with the absolute majority it has, act on the promises he made during the election campaign. He promised growth, but he has not yet said how he wants to do it," reports the German radio station DLF.

"What exactly does Prime Minister Mitsotakis mean, the Greek people can only guess right now. If privatization projects such as the mega-city at the old Hellenikon airport will actually bring up to 70,000 jobs, is not clear." As the report notes, "how, where and what exactly will be done in the field of foreign investment, is what many voters in ND are trying to understand these days - but also the Greeks who did not vote for Mitsotakis as the new hopeful politician."

According to the report, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, as leader of the government and the majority in the newly elected parliament, knows that "he has to deliver quick results after the pre-election speeches that raised expectations. The pie must grow for all Greeks, this was a simple, resounding promise. Eurozone auditors and Claus Regling of the European Stability Mechanism are coming to give a clear warning to the new Greek government that austerity programs must be further enforced by discipline."
