Education Minister Kerameus' meetings in New York

Education and Religions Minister Niki Kerameus visited the Greek schools of Saint Catherine's and Saint Demetrios in Astoria during her last day in New York, where she was a U.N. speaker on the role of education in the fight against climate change.
Kerameus spoke with teachers, students and parents, listened to the achievements and challenges faced by the schools and congratulated everyone on the great work they are doing, assuring them that the ministry supports their efforts.
She also visited the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York and the Greek Consulate, where she was briefed on expatriate issues and Greek-language education.
The minister later met with Archbishop of America Elpidophoros and discussed matters concerning education, such as the operation of the Hellenic College Holy Cross seminary and school of theology and The Cathedral School of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Manhattan.
Moreover, she had a meeting with Daniel Obst, president of the AFS Intercultural Programs, which aim to create international educational networks through student exchanges.
