Greek Deputy Defence Minister: The defence sector is also a lever of growth

Deputy Defence Minister Alkiviadis Stefanis referred to the opportunities for further industrial development in the defence sector in an interview with the Sunday edition of Kathimerini newspaper.
The minister said that the defence becomes a lever of growth and noted that the target is for Greece to turn into a reconstruction center for Chinook helicopters “We have the second largest fleet in Europe”, he noted.
He also said that the budget for the Armed Forces will not be reduced and finally he referred to the government’s four priorities for the national defence. The first is the adequacy in defence equipment the second is the evaluation system, the third is the upgrading of the military service and the fourth the strengthening of the defence industry in relation with technology.
