Piraeus names provisional winner in tender for the exploitation of tower building

The Piraeus economic commission, during a meeting on Monday, approved as provisional winner in a tender for the exploitation of the Piraeus tower building, the Commerce and Shipping Centre of Piraeus, the consortium of Cante Holdings Ltd (comprising of European Investment Bank, EBRD and Dimand) and National Pangaea REIC.
The consortium will manage the tower building, which was left idle for almost 45 years, for a period of 99 years at an annual lease price of 1,010,000 euros (with a 2.0 pct price adjustment each year).
The exploitation programme envisages mixed use of offices, shops, underground parking, exhibition halls and restaurants in the 19th and 20th floors. The project will have budget of 41 million euros and will be ready in 33 months.
Piraeus mayor Yiannis Moralis, commenting on project said it was a significant moment for the city and its citizens as the project will significant raise the municipalities’ revenues and will upgrade the surrounding area.
