FinMin Staikouras announces 700-euro social dividend for 250,000 households

Finance Minister Christos Staikouras on Thursday evening announced a 700-euro social dividend that will be distributed to some 250,000 households - corresponding to about 953,000 family members - while addressing a parliamentary session discussing the government’s taxation bill.
The draft bill was tabled on Tuesday evening in parliament and includes tax cuts for the country's middle class and businesses.
The dividend will be distributed to vulnerable groups, such as long-term unemployed people, large families and families with disabled children.
