This stunning church is located in Samarina, built since 1812. It is dedicated to Our Lady and every year on the 15th of August there is a great celebration in the village, which brings together visitors from all over the country.
Once upon a time a small pine sprouted in the church and now it beautifully comes out of the roof! The tree is over 100 years old.
Samarina is a mountain village in the Grevena region, one of Europe's highest villages, built at an altitude of about 1,600 meters. It is also known as the largest village in Greece and every summer is full of locals and visitors.
Its surroundings and landscapes are ideal for lovers of mountains, forests and natural beauty.
