Immigrants slaughter strays for food in Ioannina
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
This is not fake news, but a painful reality in Ioannina and the photo is recent from a city quarter.
Immigrants from Pakistan and Afghanistan slaughter dogs, skin them, slice them, put them in nylon bags and hang them in balconies to "dry" them!
The method has been common in their countries for thousands of years. This way the meat is dehydrated and can be preserved by a special procedure to make it a "delicious" food in the winter.
We are waiting to see if and how the animal organizations, which rightly appear to be very sensitive even when someone harms a stray, will react .
