Twelve die as boat with migrants sinks southwest of Paxi island

A boat carrying migrants sank 13 nautical miles southwest of Paxi island as it was taking on water with twelve people dead.
Coast Guard vessels have so far rescued twenty-one people. The number of people on board remains unknown.
Six Coast Guard vessels, one Navy helicopter and two air force helicopters are assisting the rescue operation.
