Superbowl ad teaches Americans four Greek words for love
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Super Bowl commercials are always a highlight of the big game and this year’s crop was especially creative. The Greek words for the four different types of love were the focus of the insurance company New York Life’s Super Bowl ad. The commercial, titled Agape, “highlights the importance of Agape, or ‘love as an action,’ according to New York Life.
The commercial describes the four Greek words, filia as love that comes from friendship, storgi as love for a grandparent or brother, eros as romantic love, and “agape, which New York Life expresses as the most profound, admirable type of love, involves ‘courage, sacrifice, and strength,’” heavy.com reported.
New York Life, the USA’s largest mutual life insurer with more than $500 billion in assets under management, is also celebrating its 175th anniversary this year.
